Rune Crafter

The Rune Crafter gives users the ability to become Rune architects within the Runes ecosystem. It defines, creates, and manages all custom Rune tokens. While "minting" is a common term in the cryptocurrency world, minting of Runes is referred to as "etching”. Each Rune you create represents a unique concept, value, or utility, permanently etched for global recognition.

Unleashing Your Creativity with Rune Crafter

Rune Crafter offers a user-friendly interface that guides you through the Rune creation process. Here's a breakdown of the key details you can define for your Rune:

  • Rune Name: Craft a descriptive and memorable name that captures the essence of your Rune's purpose. This name will be readily visible within the BitRunes ecosystem.

  • Rune Symbol: Select a unique symbol (uppercase A-Z) to represent your Rune. This symbol will be used for abbreviated references and displays within wallets and exchanges.

  • Etching Address: Designate a specific Bitcoin address to receive any future issuance transactions for this Rune. This provides greater control over the minting process for certain Rune types.

  • Supply Cap: Establish a predefined maximum limit for the total amount of your Rune that can ever be created. This fosters scarcity and potentially increases the value of your Rune over time.

  • Etching Supply: Determine the initial amount of your Rune that will be created during the etching process. This sets the starting point for your Rune's circulation within the ecosystem.

  • Etching Limit: Define a limit on the amount of your Rune that can be created or etched in a single transaction. This allows for a more controlled issuance process if desired.

Once you've successfully crafted your Rune's details within Rune Crafter, the platform seamlessly interacts with the underlying BitRunes issuance functionality. Rune Craft constructs a Bitcoin transaction that embeds an issuance protocol message. This message encapsulates all the details you defined for your Rune, including the Rune details. The crafted transaction is then broadcast to the Bitcoin network. Miners validate the transaction, ensuring it adheres to the native Bitcoin protocol rules. Upon successful validation, the Bitcoin blockchain acknowledges your new Rune token and it becomes a permanent fixture within its own genesis block on the network.
